This provides Nyaya-specific resources regarding EquityEditors Association, a fundraising mechanism for Nyaya Health. See the EEA website for additional details.
Sometimes, in the course of our work, we come across a software application from an innovative company that we use and see there is a potential for corporate collaboration. In some cases, the best way to partner is through EEA. This is how we developed, for example, a partnership with wizfolio. An example solicitation is below.
Nyaya Health is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that, delivers community- and hospital-based medical in remote rural Nepal. Our mission is two-fold: 1) to provide free community-based healthcare in rural Nepal that strengthens the Nepali Ministry of Health’s public sector; 2) to establish and disseminate a scaleable model of health care worldwide that delivers accountable, high-quality care in places affected by poverty, isolation, war, and neglect. Central to our accountability mission is to disseminate via the web our model in an open-source fashion. You may read our academic article on the subject of “global health delivery 2.0” here: www.plosmedicine.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pmed.1000158. Additionally, we utilize a diffuse international network of volunteers to collaborate on projects. Dropbox allows us to achieve both. The ability to make public these documents allows us to publish a large number of our operations, clinical, and financial protocols, and to organize them via our wiki.nyayahealth.org. The fact that dropbox files are stored locally as well is critical because we have such sporadic electricity and internet access.
We use relatively little space, since we primarily share text documents. Currently, our organizational archive is only 2.5 GB. As such, over the coming year, we anticipate not exceeding 5 GB (total, not per-user). However, this space would need to be spread over up to 60 users.
We would like to explore with you options for getting this size team account (5GB total, not per-user, 60 users). In return, we would publicize dropbox through our typical corporate partnership mechanism, EquityEditors Association (www.equityedit.org). EEA is a network of network of socially conscious medical, scientific, and technical editors. The editors collectively donate a percentage of their income to Nyaya Health. Additionally, we will write about dropbox on our blog.nyayahealth.org, which enjoys a significant following among development and global health practitioners, many of whom would find dropbox useful.
