Nyaya Health Team Member Agreement
This agreement, between the team member and Nyaya Health, stipulates expectations for both parties during the period of his or her time on the Nyaya Health team. This is separate from any other titles or positions that the team member holds within Nyaya.
Functions of the Nyaya Health Team
The Nyaya Health team is an extended network of current and former volunteers and staff members who work together to dialogue The overall function of the team is two-fold:
- to network for new ideas, fundraising, technologies that will benefit Nyaya's clinical and public health work in Nepal
- to provide Nyaya with technical assistance to deliver high-quality care in Nepal
- to continuously improve upon the overall vision and strategic direction of Nyaya Health
The primary mechanism for communication among our virtual team is over team(AT)nyayahealth(DOT)org.
While part of a virtual organization, team members should try to schedule local meetings regularly with each other to make the experience more personal and engage in more effective collaboration. The team also conducts weekly voice conference calls, with whomever is available at that time.
Expectations
All team members are expected to:
- search out new partnerships, ideas, technologies, markets, and strategies
- respond promptly to other team members’ requests
- contribute to the wiki, blog, evernote, and any other collaborative technologies
- be honest about their time commitments and ability to meet tasks that they take on
- if they are currently doing active work, regularly email the team list about the progress of their work
Note about Networking
All team members will engage in some form of networking with donors, collaborators, professors, and companies. We highly encourage all forms of networking, dialogue, and exchange of ideas. It is imperative for overall consistency of our message, and to avoid confusion (e.g., two people from Nyaya talking about similar issues with the same contact) that other team members are aware. As such, prior to meeting or emailing with someone about Nyaya, the team member is expected to email their main contact within Nyaya (typically, the Executive Director or Director of Operations) to let them know. We're all here to help the team member network and present your and Nyaya's work best. Preparation for meetings is critical, because our collaborators really want to help us, but they need a clear sense of your professionalism and dedication, and what we need. Typically, outreach emails should cc the Director of Operations as well, to keep them in the loop and able to manage all our different contacts.
Period of Contract
For as long as the member is on the team(AT)nyayahealth(DOT)org listserve. The Nyaya Health Board has the right to terminate this agreement, and listserve membership for any unprofessional behavior on the part of the team member.
Compensation
This is a volunteer position for which no compensation nor personal expenses are paid.
Finalizing the Agreement
This agreement is non-negotiable and is finalized immediately upon receipt of the email inviting the new team member to team(AT)nyayahealth(DOT)org.
